Supporting a Client to Apply for a Hounds for Heroes Assistance Dog

If you work with a client who has served, or is currently serving, in HM Armed Forces or the Emergency Services and is living with a physical disability, they may be eligible for a Hounds for Heroes assistance dog.

Our dogs are trained to help individuals live more independently, assist with everyday tasks, and offer loyal companionship, helping people focus on their abilities, not their disabilities.

Please note that we are currently unable to accept applications where the primary reason for applying relates to mental or emotional disabilities, such as PTSD.

To qualify for an assistance dog, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Service Background: Currently serving or previously served in HM Armed Forces (regular or reservist) or the 999 Emergency Services.
