Meet Warrior, a New Hounds for Heroes Recruit
We're delighted to introduce Warrior, one of the newest recruits to the Hounds for Heroes family.
Warrior is named after the famous Isle of Wight-born horse "Warrior", who served alongside General Jack Seely during the First World War. Known as "The Horse the Germans Could Not Kill", Warrior's story reflects courage, resilience and service—values that sit at the heart of Hounds for Heroes.
Warrior's journey has been made possible thanks to the incredible fundraising efforts of the Isle of Wight Cadet Forces. Sea Cadets, Army Cadets, Royal Marine Cadets and Air Cadets came together to complete a Round the Island Relay, raising funds to support Warrior's training.
Their generosity will help Warrior develop the skills, confidence and independence needed to become a life-changing assistance dog for a physically disabled serving or former member of HM Armed Forces or the UK Emergency Services.
Everyone at Hounds for Heroes would like to thank everyone involved in the fundraising challenge. Their support is helping create the next generation of assistance dog partnerships.
Follow Warrior's journey and meet our other Dogs in Training.
