A huge thank you to Elliot!
As part of his Duke of Edinburgh Award, Elliot set himself a 30-day challenge to raise money for Hounds for Heroes, and came up with a brilliant idea.
Elliot baked homemade dog biscuits in the shape of dog bones and sold them for £1 each at The Old Forge Tea Room in Hambledon. His creativity and determination captured the support of local dog lovers, and by the end of the challenge he had raised an incredible £419.20.
Our CEO, Kate Phipps-Wiltshire, stopped by the café to thank Elliot and buy some biscuits herself. Elliot later visited our headquarters to present the donation and proudly show us his Duke of Edinburgh project work.
During his visit he also met our founder, Allen Parton, and ET, who made sure Elliot received a very warm Hounds for Heroes welcome.
The funds Elliot raised will help feed one of our assistance dogs for an entire year, supporting our work with physically disabled serving and former members of the Armed Forces and Emergency Services.
Elliot, thank you for your kindness, creativity and commitment. And thank you to everyone who supported him by buying biscuits.
