We are incredibly proud to share that Hounds for Heroes has won the Animal Partnership Award at the Soldiering On Awards 2026.
The award was announced in London on Thursday 17th September, at an evening celebrating people and organisations doing amazing things across the Armed Forces community.
Representing Hounds for Heroes were Sean Turner, our Head of Dog Selection, Training and Aftercare, and our newest Partnership, Ryan and Assistance Dog Comet.
Ryan described the difference Comet has made to his life as “completely life-changing”. Comet supports him by retrieving dropped items, collecting the post and reducing the risks involved in reaching from his wheelchair. Just as importantly, he is always by Ryan’s side.
Sean said: “Winning an award like this from such a prestigious organisation is huge. It just means that we can reach out and help more people.”
For a small charity like ours, this recognition means so much. We hope it will help more people discover what an Assistance Dog Partnership can make possible and reach those who may benefit from our support.
Thank you to everyone who voted, shared our story and cheered us on, and to the Soldiering On Awards and award partner Pets UK for such a memorable evening.
