Could You Help Change a Life? Become a Puppy Parent or Foster for Hounds for Heroes

At Hounds for Heroes, our mission is simple: to provide specially trained assistance dogs to injured and disabled members of HM Armed Forces and the Emergency Services. These incredible dogs empower their Partners with independence, confidence and companionship, but their journey starts with the support of devoted volunteers.

We’re currently seeking Puppy Parents and Full-Time Fosterers to help raise and nurture the next generation of life-changing dogs.

What Does a Puppy Parent Do?

From just 8 weeks old, our puppies begin their journey with a dedicated Puppy Parent. These volunteers give our young recruits a safe, loving home where they can start their early training and socialisation. You don’t need previous experience, just time, commitment and plenty of love to give.

We provide:

  • Food and equipment
  • Veterinary care
  • Full support and guidance from our experienced team

After around 12 to 14 months, the puppies progress to their next stage of development, moving into Full-Time Foster homes for advanced training before being partnered with someone whose life they will change forever.

Foster Opportunities That Fit Your Life
Whether you can provide a long-term foster home or offer Short-Term cover (such as holiday stays), your involvement plays a crucial part in preparing our dogs for the vital work they’ll go on to do. Every hour you give helps build a future of hope and support for someone in need.
