On 8 March, Hounds for Heroes joined people around the world in celebrating International Women’s Day and recognising the incredible women who help make our work possible.
This year’s theme, “When we give, we gain”, highlights the power of generosity, collaboration, and support in creating a more equal world. The Give to Gain campaign encourages individuals, organisations, and communities to contribute in ways that help women thrive, because when women succeed, everyone benefits.
Across the UK’s assistance dog community, women play a vital role in driving progress, sharing knowledge, and supporting others. Many have even gone on to found assistance dog charities, helping expand the support available to those who need it most.
At Hounds for Heroes, we are proud to work alongside many inspiring women whose dedication, expertise, and generosity help transform lives every day. Whether through volunteering, training, advocacy, fundraising, or giving their time and knowledge, their contributions help create a stronger, more supportive community for the people we serve.
