Sometimes a change in direction can lead to a wonderful new opportunity.
During his assistance dog training, Bobby was diagnosed with mild hip dysplasia, meaning he could no longer continue in the role originally planned for him. While this was disappointing at the time, Bobby’s calm temperament, friendly nature and love of people made it clear he still had an important role to play within Hounds for Heroes.
We’re delighted to share that Bobby has now completed his very first school visit as one of our Reservist Dogs.
Reservist Dogs support Hounds for Heroes through community engagement activities including school visits, events and applicant days, helping us raise awareness of the work we do supporting physically disabled serving and former members of the Armed Forces and Emergency Services.

Bobby has already taken to his new role brilliantly, and we are incredibly proud of how he has adapted to this new chapter.
We’re very excited to see him continue to grow in confidence as part of the Hounds for Heroes team.
