This week’s lesson from big brother Biggles to Cranwell was all about trains: What are they? Why do they sound like that? Why do they smell like that?!

Cranwell had lots of questions, but luckily Biggles was on hand to give him the confidence to figure it all out. Trains can seem strange to dogs, so it was fantastic for Cranwell to have not only his trainer for support and guidance but also Biggles to show him how it’s done.

This lesson is part of their Public Access training, helping our assistance dogs learn to be calm and confident in busy and sometimes unpredictable public spaces. By practising on and around trains, Cranwell is learning to navigate crowds, noises, smells and new environments safely and calmly, so that one day he’ll be ready to support his future partner wherever they need to go.

But for now, next stop, getting on and riding the train

Well done, Biggles and Cranwell, keep up the brilliant work!
