5 Puppies sat in a row wearing assistance dog jackets

We are looking to increase the membership of the Board of Trustees. We want to build a diverse and inclusive Board with varied experiences and skill sets.  Overall our key requirement is to find applicants with affinity for, and commitment to help deliver, the Charity’s mission but would also particularly welcome applicants who have experience of serving in HM Armed Forces (particularly the Army) or the Emergency Services or who have fundraising, legal or dog training/assistance dog expertise. Knowledge of the charity industry would be welcome but is not essential.

As a member of our Board of Trustees you will be part of the leadership team responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the Charity, helping us achieve our vision and ensuring that the Charity fulfils its charitable purpose through the development of the organisation’s objectives and strategy.

Trustees should expect to devote a minimum of 4 hours per month to Charity affairs (as a minimum preparing for and attending the monthly Board meeting held virtually in the evening ) plus attendance at an annual Strategic Review Day at the Centre. However, if a Trustee has the freedom and willingness to give more time to supporting the Charity then there are opportunities to join a Board sub Committee ; get involved in specific project work to help develop the Charity’s work and attend other occasional meetings and events.
