Group Captain Ian Tolfts OBE RAF
Chairman of Hounds for Heroes
A serving Group Captain in the Royal Air Force, and a life long dog lover, Ian has been involved with Hounds for Heroes from its early days. Joining the RAF in 1984, Ian has served in a wide range of roles across the RAF and the UK ranging from infrastructure management, personnel and operations. A former Head of Media and Communication for the RAF, Ian is currently the Head of Recruiting for the RAF. But he also had the privilege of serving at RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire where he had the sad, but fulfilling task, of organising and handling repartiations for the fallen from the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. The proud owner of 2 rescue dogs - Bob, a Labrador and Benson, a Boxer cross English Bull Terrier - Ian, together with his wife Jo, have been committed to animal welfare for many years. The ability to be able combine his love for dogs with helping injured colleagues means that "Hounds" is dear to his heart.
